DIXON, George William - Putnam

Funeral services for George William Dixon, 90, who died at his home here Tusday night, will be held at the Chastain funeral home Friday afternoon at 2 O'clock. Burial will be made in Roachdale cemetery. Rev. T. J. Wilson, pastor of the Christian church will be in charge. Friends may call at the funeral home this afternoon and evening and Friday morning. Mr. Dixon had been ill over a long period and his death was attributed to a complication of diseases. He was born near here August 27, 1849, a son of Sylvester and Sarah Walters Dixon. He was married June 18, 1890, to Luella L. Saylor, who survives. A daughter preceded him in death. One nephew, Charles Got of Portland, Indiana, a number of cousins and a host of friends also survive. Mrs. Saylor had the misfortune to fall several weeks ago and fractured both arms, necessitating constant care for bother her and Mr. Dixon, who had been confined to his bed for some time   --- thanks so very much to Marilyn W. for sharing her Roachdale Times obituary collection - greatly appreciated !-.
